Copper Alginate Dressing

MedCu Copper Alginate

Copper-oxide antimicrobial technology — broad-spectrum defense with no known bacterial resistance pathway.

MedCu Copper Alginate — Copper Alginate Dressing

Overview

MedCu brings a differentiated antimicrobial mechanism to the alginate class. Its absorbent contact layer and non-adherent outer layer are both impregnated with copper oxide particles that release copper ions continuously on contact with wound fluid. Copper's multi-target mode of action extends to resistant organisms including MRSA and VRE, disrupts biofilm, and carries anti-inflammatory character that favors tissue regeneration — a compelling option where silver has underperformed.

Distinctions

  • Dual-layer construction impregnated with copper oxide
  • Broad-spectrum action including resistant organisms
  • Disrupts biofilm architecture
  • Anti-inflammatory profile supportive of regeneration
  • Continuous ion release across wear time

Clinical Indications

Diabetic wounds; leg and foot ulcers; pressure ulcers; first- and second-degree burns; surgical wounds.

Considerations

Not for use with known copper sensitivity.
